mRNA route for vaccine development has offered accelerated combat to infectious diseases. These vaccines often need two doses with interval of few weeks to maintain sufficient antibodies in human body. In pandemics, single dose vaccines are highly desired. Single dose vaccines are most cost effective.
Brief (and non-confidential) Solution
The number of doses and the intervals are determined by human trials. Hence there is fundamentally need to release shot of the vaccine at certain intervals. Thus we developed an encapsulation technology which offers burst release of the content at specific time interval in vivo. Time of the burst release is determined by the encapsulation formulation, and it can be extended upto 8 weeks. The encapsulation does not degrade the vaccine. The neat vaccine blended with the encapsulated vaccine can be given as a single dose to the patients. The formulation is compatible with current handling protocol for the vaccines.
